What is A Voice for Vice?
A Voice for Vice is my attempt to fight the arrival of the next Great Epoch of American Boredom by combining clear writing and a strong (non-political) "Libertarian" concept of individual freedom to counter the forces that would push legislation impeding upon the rights of any autonomous person.
Chief among these is the right to produce, possess, sell, trade or consume any substance we choose, in any quantity we choose, for whatever reason we choose, and at any time we choose, so long as we are harming no one in our indulgence*.
As important, AVoV believes absolutely in the right of any consenting adult to fuck any other consenting adult in any way those adults want to be fucked, and for whatever amount of their hard-earned cash, if any, they'd like to exchange for it.
Additionally for that hard-earned cash, AVoV adopts the stance that you should be able to wager it any time you please with any individual or establishment willing to come to agreement on odds.
In this same line of thinking, I also support the rights of establishments to set their own policies on tobacco and have faith enough in individuals to believe they can choose for themselves whether or not to patronize a smoking establishment.
This covers alcohol/drugs, sex and prostitution, gambling and smoking and, though not intended to be comprehensive, the above items are what I refer to as your Vice Rights, or generally your undeniable right to indulge in whatever the hell it might be that makes you happy, once again and for the last time clarified by saying "without hurting anyone else." From here out, that extremely logical and basic qualifier will simply be implied.
At A Voice for Vice I recognize that threats to these Vice Rights are present everywhere and do not come from any particular region within the political landscape. Though my social sensibilities better align with those on the political left, I reject anyone from anywhere on the political spectrum who works against personal liberty in these or other matters I deem beyond the scope of external authority.
On top of all of that, and equally important to my ultimate aim of de-inhibiting people in their quests to better enjoy a finite existence, AVoV is intended also as an irreverent guide to successfully navigating the world of vice. Voicing support for our rights is important, but we'll also make sure you have plenty of ideas just how to enjoy your Vice Rights once you've fully accepted that you have them regardless what a supposed authority might say.

* And provided people are held equally accountable for their actions regardless of substance consumption. The onus is on the user to assure their fake crime (drug use, etc) doesn't lead them to committing an actual one.
